Postmen strike over work plans

Postmen in Bridgwater have voted to hold up to three one-day strikes before Christmas in a dispute over part-time working in the Somerset town.

Staff voted to hold the first strike on 20 December although a spokesperson for the communication workers union said no further dates had been authorised yet.

The workers are in dispute over plans to replace full-time jobs with part-time roles.

No one from Royal Mail was available for comment.
