Man arrested after arson attacks

A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of arson after a spate of fires in a Somerset village.

A police spokesman said officers had increased their presence in Long Sutton following the incidents in the area over the past two months.

"There have been 11 suspicious fires since early October, mainly to outbuildings and bins," he said.

The arrested man, who is believed to be from the area, is currently on police bail pending further enquiries.
