Produce would be shared between the homeowner and grower

Home owners in a Somerset town are being urged to give up a patch of their garden for a grow-your-own project.
South Somerset Climate Action Group believes acres of unused garden space in Ilminster could be let out for vegetable cultivation.
The group is giving out free seeds to help growers to get started and produce would be shared between themselves and the householder.
The idea emerged because of a lack of allotments in the town.
Spokesman Joe Burlington said: "It can be just a small patch, whatever is available.
"We thought, with people who have a patch of land they don't want to spend the time working on and others are waiting for allotments, why not get the two together and see whether somebody could lend a patch of land and when there's a little bit of produce, it gets shared?
"But the ideal would be if there were more allotments."
He said there would have to be negotiations between the individuals involved over access to gardens and how much produce each takes.
A meeting about the scheme is being held at the Glade Centre in Frog Lane, Ilminster at 1930 GMT on Thursday.
