Passenger fired gun pellet at man

A cyclist was hit by ball-bearing gun pellets fired from a car in Weston-super-Mare, police have said.

The 34-year-old man was cycling along Locking Road at about 1945 BST on Wednesday, 1 October when the pellets were fired.

He turned around and was hit again in the face but was not seriously hurt.

He told police the pellets were fired by the rear passenger of a small silver hatchback, with part of the registration X562.

He said it may have been a Citroen Saxo or a Peugeot 106.

Pc Mark Rawlins said: "This was a reckless act which could have had very serious consequences."
