Tractor blaze kills four calves

Four calves were killed when a tractor and a cattle shed caught fire at a farm in North Perrott in Somerset.

Firefighters were called to Eastfield Farm in the early hours of Tuesday and found the vehicle burning.

Breathing apparatus and hose reel jets were used to put out the flames and crews were at the scene for some time raking over hay and dampening down.

The tractor was destroyed and the small cattle store. The cause was thought to be an electrical fault.
