Wards closed after virus outbreak

Three wards have been closed to new admissions at a hospital in Somerset after an outbreak of the Norovirus.

Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton has closed Sedgemoor, Mendip and Fielding wards to prevent the highly infectious virus spreading.

Visitors are being asked to stay away if they have had symptoms of diarrhoea and vomiting in the last 48 hours.

The closure means there will be delays to some planned operations because of the shortage of beds.
