Warning after acid taken from car

Potentially dangerous chemicals have been taken from a parked car in Worlebury, near Weston-super-Mare.

Four small bottles of nitric acid and 1kg (2.2lb) of sodium chlorate was stolen from a toolkit in a Skoda car parked in The Crescent.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said the substances could be harmful if they come into contact with the skin.

"Anyone discovering the chemicals or anything resembling them should contact police immediately," he added.
