Man remanded after taxi hut blaze

A 19-year-old man has been remanded in custody charged with arson with intent to endanger life after a fire at a Bath taxi cab hut.

Four staff members escaped injury when a canister of petrol was deliberately set alight in the wooden office in South Parade in the city centre.

Fire crews were called on Saturday evening and found the building "well alight".

The man is due to appear before Bristol Crown Court on 26 August.
