Bridgwater Police are clamping down on "rogue cyclists" in the town centre, after concerns from the public.
Police have been patrolling the Fore Street area in Bridgwater, talking to people about the dangers of cycling on pavements and pedestrian areas.
Sgt Andy Smith said cyclists who ride in Fore Street will now be liable for a £30 fine.
Police received a number of calls from the public, concerned about cyclists using pedestrian areas as pathways.
