Go-kart circuit built on dodgems

Go-kart circuit at WSM Grand Pier
The go-karts can be adapted to suit the driver's age and experience

A 500,000 elevated go-kart circuit, built over the dodgems on the Grand Pier at Weston-super-Mare, has opened.

The 200m electrified circuit has eight go-karts fitted with four pick-ups to get their power.

The acceleration and 65mph (104km/h) top speed of the karts can be controlled and made suitable for drivers' age and experience.

AGM Holdings bought the Somerset pier last February and have spent more than 1m on improvements and new facilities.
