Festival patrolled on two wheels

Police officers are to use bicycles to patrol this year's Glastonbury festival in Somerset.

A team of eight officers will patrol the site along with police on foot, on horseback and with dogs.

Supt Adrian Coombs said: "We have been working with the festival organisers to reduce the number of vehicles used around the site."

The police are mainly based in the compound on the festival site, next door to Worthy Farm.

Undercover officers are also to be deployed on site. The festival opened on Wednesday.
