Three hundred water aid boxes are being sent to Burma
|
The first load of aid collected by members of a Rotary Club in Bath and North East Somerset is due to leave East Midlands airport for Burma.
Chelwood Bridge club runs local firm World Water Works which sends survival boxes to disaster-stricken countries.
Club members spent a day at the Midsomer Norton depot packing the boxes to help after the cyclone.
They provide purified water for a family of four for four months as well other drinking and cooking items.
World Water Works plans in advance of future disasters so that it is in a position to quickly respond.
Previous fund-raising initiatives mean that 300 boxes were available to immediately respond to this disaster.
An appeal to raise £50,000 to send more aid to Burma has been launched.
