Funeral for Ecuador crash woman

The funeral of a young gap-year student killed in a bus crash in Ecuador has taken place.

Lizzie Pincock, 19, died with four other British women in the crash earlier in April. Fourteen other people were injured.

The service was held in the chapel at Taunton School, where Lizzie was a prefect. Her ashes were scattered in the school grounds.

Hundreds of mourners attended, dressed in bright colours.

Lizzie's parents, Jill and Mike, had encouraged mourners to wear "bright and beautiful" clothes in their daughter's memory.

Almost 350 mourners filled the chapel, while a further 100 schoolchildren filled the courtyard outside and dozens hung out classroom windows to listen to the service.

Her boyfriend James McLauchlan was among the pallbearers.

The Reverend David Owen paid tribute to fellow Ecuador coach crash victims Emily Sadler and Indira Swann - whose services were being simultaneously held elsewhere.

He thanked the congregation for wearing bright colours, as requested by Lizzie's family.

West Somerset Coroner Michael Rose has said the teenager had died of multiple injuries.

Gap-year students Emily Sadler, 19, from Hertfordshire; Rebecca Logie, 19, from Chorley; and Indira Swann, 18, of Maidenhead, were also killed, along with trip leader Sarah Howard, 26, from Cheshire.
