Man's skull fractured in attack

A 22-year-old man suffered a fractured skull in an unprovoked attack in Bridgwater, police have said.

The man was with a friend in the Cornhill area of the Somerset town in the early hours of last Sunday morning when they were attacked by two men.

He is in a serious condition at Frenchay Hospital in Bristol, a police spokesman said.

Two men aged 25 and 29 have been arrested and granted police bail pending further enquiries.

Police have issued a witness appeal.
