Hovercraft rescues girls in mud
Burnham's Light Of Elizabeth hovercraft
The hovercraft was on a training exercise when it was called-out
Two girls have been rescued after becoming stuck in thick mud on Weston-super-Mare beach.

The Burnham-on-Sea Light of Elizabeth rescue hovercraft had been on a training operation at Uphill when it was contacted by coastguards.

Spokesman Mike Newman said the girls, aged 12 and 13, and from Quedgeley, Gloucester, were safe but shaken.

"The pair had been walking with their parents when they had become stuck," said Mr Newman.

The incident highlighted the dangers along the Somerset coastline, he added.
