Social services keep three stars

Social services in Somerset and North Somerset have kept their "excellent" three-star status in new performance ratings.

But Bath and North East Somerset Council's care provision has dropped from two stars to one.

The Commission for Social Care Inspection said the council's delivery of services was "adequate" but that it had "promising capacity to improve".

The figures were based on a period covering 2006/2007.
