Annual carnival billed as success
More than £27,000 was raised for charity at the annual Bridgwater Carnival over the weekend.

Up to 160 floats and tens of thousands of people attended the fireworks display and subsequent parade.

Organiser Dave Croker said: "It went fairly well. The crowd was up on last year and local clubs are already putting their ideas in for next year."

Carnival organisers had hoped to beat the street collection record of £30,701, which was set last year.
