The lifeboat was out on a training exercise
A kite surfer was rescued by a Somerset lifeboat crew after getting into difficulties in strong winds.

Nick Luget was picked up by the Burnham-on-Sea lifeboat crew out on a training exercise near Stert Island on Wednesday evening.

"My kite had turned itself inside out in the strong winds, leaving me in the water, he said.

"Fortunately, another kiter on the shore raised the alarm and I'm very grateful to the lifeboat crew."
