Protest planned at Seymour house
Jane Seymour

A march is planned on ex-Bond girl Jane Seymour's country house by neighbours angry at parties held by people renting out the Grade I listed building.

Residents have complained gatherings at St Catherine's Court, near Bath, have caused noise and traffic problems.

Some have taken legal action to try to get its 24-hour alcohol and entertainment licence overturned.

One neighbour said the actress, who lives at the house three months a year, had ignored letters of protest.

Jane Jones, 53, said: "If Jane had spoken to people and explained what her intentions were, how many events she was planning to host, then maybe we could have lived with that.

"They are the absent neighbours from hell. They are in the process of creating circumstances that they will have nothing to do with."

The latest hearing for the licence appeal at Bath and Wansdyke Magistrates Court on Tuesday was adjourned until November.

Angry neighbours also plan to hand over a petition opposing the licence on Sunday.

Hein van Vorstenbosch, who manages the estate on behalf of Ms Seymour, has previously said he worked closely with Bath and North East Somerset Council's licensing team over the application earlier this year.

He added that the dispute was now in the hands of lawyers.

The council said it had taken into account public safety and nuisance issues when granting the licence.

Ms Seymour brought the mansion in 1984 after shooting the television film Jamaica Inn.

The house has attracted many celebrities, including the band Radiohead, who recorded part of their album OK Computer there.

Ms Seymour and her husband live there for three months of the year and rent out the property for private functions.
