Witness sought after taxi attack
Michael Barber
Mr Barber remains in hospital
Police investigating the serious assault of a taxi driver in Worle by three men have appealed for a key witness to come forward.

Michael Barber, 41, was pushed to the floor and kicked in the head during the attack on 3 August at the junction of Madam Lane and Ebdon Road.

Mr Barber has since undergone surgery to remove a blood clot on his brain and remains in hospital.

The three men ran off after a motorist slowed down to see what was happening.

Four people have been arrested and released on bail pending further enquiries.

Det Insp Leanne Pook said: "The assault on Mr Barber was unprovoked and left him with life-threatening injuries.

"Although his condition has improved he is now unable to drive which will have a significant impact on not only his livelihood but also his personal life.

"It is essential that we identify the people responsible for his injuries and are hopeful that a passing motorist may be able to provide us with vital information."
