Cabbie 'critical' after assault
A taxi driver is in hospital with serious head injuries after being attacked in Weston-super-Mare.

He pulled over on Madam Lane in Worle after being flagged down by three men, but a confrontation followed after one of the trio began kicking the car.

The driver was pushed the ground and kicked in the head, but the offenders ran off when another motorist came by.

The 41-year-old victim is in Bristol's Frenchay hospital in a stable but critical condition.

Police are keen to speak to the occupants of the passing car as the injured man is unable to give enough information about his attackers.
