Event shows off life-saving work
The emergency services are staging demonstrations of their life-saving operations at Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset.

Coastguards, police, firefighters and members of the St John Ambulance, BARB rescue hovercraft and Burnham RNLI are taking part in the event.

The demonstrations include a sea rescue, showing the dangers of going out into fast flowing tidal estuaries.

Organiser Roger Flower said it would be a great chance to meet rescue crews and see how they help people in Somerset.

The Emergency Services Community Awareness and Promotion Event (Escape), is being held on Burnham seafront between 1000BST and 1600BST on Saturday.
