The public consultation period lasts until 24 August
Plans for a £21m sports complex in Yeovil have been drawn-up which could see the town hosting county and regional competitions.

The Sports Zone includes a 25m competition pool, racquets facilities, climbing wall and a gymnasium.

South Somerset District Council is asking for feedback from residents before formal plans are submitted.

Survey forms are available from council offices, Goldenstones leisure centre and via the council's website.

The consultation lasts until Friday 24 August.

Once the views from the public have been received and considered, final decisions are expected to be taken by the council in October 2007, and expect planning application to be submitted in 2008.

If all goes to plan construction will start in Autumn 2009 and the complex completed by 2011.
