Casualty unit undergoes facelift
The accident and emergency department at Taunton's Musgrove Park hospital has undergone a £300,000 facelift.

The work includes separating the minor and major injuries unit and providing a dedicated children's waiting and treatment area.

Hospital bosses said the department was now a more streamlined operation and offered a better service.

A local artist was also enlisted to make the new environment more welcoming and child-friendly.

Dr Cliff Mann said: "Staff and patients now have better and more modern facilities and will be seen by the right person in the right place quicker than before.

"It is particularly good that the children's area has been improved. The waiting and treatment areas are now much more child-friendly, making what is often a difficult time for families a little bit easier."
