Viability of toll road examined

Tolls have been charged on the road for more than 50 years
A decision on whether it is economically viable to collect tolls on an unadopted road is to be discussed by North Somerset Council.

Tolls on Kewstoke Road which connects Weston-super-Mare to Kewstoke have not been collected after First Management Group withdrew from the concession.

The council could adopt the road as a highway or "significantly increase" the 70p return charge to cover costs.

It also plans to ask residents for their input on the charging debate.
