Man is remanded on murder charge

The woman's body was found on Saturday night

A man has been remanded in custody charged with the murder of a woman in Street over the Bank Holiday weekend.

The woman was found dead at a house in Orchard Road in the Somerset town late on Saturday night. She is understood to have been stabbed.

Christopher Hartley Jones, 53, was arrested at the scene and charged on Monday after being quizzed by police.

At North Avon Magistrates' Court on Tuesday he was remanded to appear at Bristol Crown Court on 2 May.
