Coastguard crew need new recruits
An appeal has been launched for volunteers to join the coastguards in Burnham-on-Sea.

Three new recruits are needed to work alongside police and rescue hovercraft crews in offshore searches, cliff and mud rescues.

"We are particularly keen to bolster our cover during daytime hours," said Coastguard Officer Steve Bird.

The volunteers will receive specialist training from the coastguard over several months before being deployed.

More information will be available at an open day being held at the Coastguard station, on the seafront on Sunday,1 May.
