A research centre devoted to studying society's attitude to death has been launched by the University of Bath.
The Centre for Death and Society (CDAS) will examine how people cope with death, dying and bereavement.
The centre is hoping to help businesses and organisations who have to cope with bereavement through workshops.
"Public and academic interest in death has developed rapidly over the past decade," said Dr Glennys Howarth, CDAS's founder.
"There is a strong need for research-based information that can underpin the policy and practices involved in death, and support the work of health authorities, charities and private businesses on death-related issues."
