Descendents of the men who fought the Battle of Sedgemoor in 1685 have been taking part in a re-enactment of the fight to mark its 319th anniversary.
Fields around the Somerset village of Westonzoyland echoed with the sounds of musket and cannon fire as the battle was recreated over the weekend.
More than 300 people - many from the local area - dressed in traditional uniforms to take part in the event.
The Battle of Sedgemoor was the last time Englishmen fought Englishmen.
Rebellion halted
It resulted in the defeat of the Monmouth Rebellion, led by the Duke of Monmouth, the illegitimate son of Charles II.
About 1,300 rebels were killed, and another 500 captured during the fighting. The Duke of Monmouth was later executed at the Tower of London.
The spectacle has been organised by Historic Sedgemoor and the Sealed Knot civil war re-enactment society.
The event was held at Westonzoyland Recreation Ground.
