Motorcyclist is flown to hospital

A motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital after a collision on the A39 at West Quantoxhead in Somerset.

The accident happened at 1200 BST on Friday when a seven-and-a-half tonne lorry collided with a motorcycle by a walled area of the road.

Police said the motorcyclist was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital with "serious but not life-threatening injuries".

On Friday afternoon the road was closed, and motorists advised to avoid the area.

Police would like anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them.
