Orders imposed on father and son
A father and son have been issued anti-social Behaviour Orders in a bid to curb their criminal activities.

Nigel Wetherick, 47, and his 19-year-old son Michael, both from Watchet in Somerset, were convicted last Friday of a string of offences.

They included affray, dangerous driving, criminal damage and possession of an offensive weapon.

The two-year order places restrictions on their behaviour, which if breached, could land them in prison.

It means neither man should assault or harass any person or behave in away which is likely to intimidate or cause distress to anyone.

They cannot enter any private premises without consent of the owner or the occupier.

Council committed

Avon and Somerset police applied for the post-conviction ABSO following consultations with West Somerset District Council.

Anti-social behaviour co-ordinator Tiina Huovinen said: "We are committed to taking action against any person who is behaving in manner which is making other people's lives a misery.

"In this case, both men have been involved in numerous crimes which have had a significant impact on the people of Watchet.

"If either of them breaks their ASBO in England or Wales they face being arrested straight away by police."

Following his conviction, Nigel Wetherick received a 180 hour Community Punishment Order and was banned from driving.

Michael Wetherick received a two year Community Rehabilitation Order and was ordered to attend a course aimed at reforming his behaviour.
