A Somerset mother, whose son is scarred for life after a bottle attack, is launching a campaign to teach children about the dangers of "glassing".
Darren Vincent, 16, from Worle, needed stitches to his nose and eyebrow when a Vodka bottle was smashed in his face.
The youth responsible for the attack was sentenced to nine months in jail.
Darren's mother, Laraine, plans to hold talks in local schools with graphic pictures of her injured son to "bring home" the message.
"There are bullies out there that need to be stopped.
"Until we do something it's not going to get better," she said.
Darren had been walking home from an end-of-term party when he was confronted by three youths.
Mrs Vincent believes the attack was fuelled by drink and wants to help youngsters understand how alcohol can change a person's nature.
"You have to get through to children that if you're drinking, you see things in a different way.
"You've got to do it in such a way that kids can understand it," she said.
Mrs Vincent also felt Darren would have been safer if he had been walking with friends.
She plans to meet local police officers and school teachers to formulate a campaign.
