River searched as clothes found
Police divers have searched the River Avon in Bath after a pile of neatly folded clothes was found on the bank.

Officers were called to a section of the river near the Sainsbury's store in Green Park Road at 1420 BST on Saturday after a man spotted the clothes.

Fearing that a woman had gone into the water and got into difficulties, the underwater search team, police dogs and the force helicopter were called in.

A police spokesman said no body had been found, but inquiries were ongoing.

The clothes found include a size 10 pair of blue jeans, a black sleeveless top and a size 12 black jumper.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Avon and Somerset Police.
