Date set for Exmoor body inquest
A clay reconstruction of the man's head
The body was wrapped in a green single bed sheet
A date has been set for an inquest into the death of a man whose decomposed remains were found in a bag on Exmoor.

Despite the fact that investigations have failed to discover who the man was or how he died, the inquest will take place on 23 November.

It will be heard by the West Somerset coroner. The remains were spotted on Winsford Hill on 13 March 2002.

A three-dimensional clay reconstruction was made of the man's head and forensic tests were carried out on the body.

Verse from Koran

An examination of the bones showed the man probably spent the last 10 years of his life living somewhere between Poole in Dorset, Bristol, Plymouth and Bude in North Cornwall.

The man was aged 25-35, of slim build, 5ft 8ins to 5ft 9ins, had black hair and was wearing a gold chain with a pendant on it with a verse from the Koran.

Police have also appealed to dentists to help identify the man who had distinctive dental work done at least a year before his death.

The body was wrapped in a green single bed sheet and a single duvet as well as the black plastic bags.

Also in the package was a white pillowcase used by a linen hire service which supplies hotels and restaurants throughout the South West.
