Pool complex to get £23m facelift

There has been a seaside pool in Weston since the 1930s

A former outdoor leisure centre in Weston-super-Mare is to get a £23m facelift.

Developers hope work on the old Tropicana centre will start next spring.

Plans for the development of the site on the seafront were given the go-ahead by North Somerset Council earlier in the year.

The new leisure centre will be Greek-themed, and will include a bowling alley, family pub and a number of catering facilities.

There has been a pool on the seafront in Weston since the 1930s.
