Teenager killed in car crash

The driver, James Little, died at the scene
An 18-year-old man has died after the car he was driving hit a lamp post.

The accident happened near Churchinford, Somerset, at 1240 BST on Sunday 8 June.

The teenager, who has been named as James Christopher Little, of Churchinford, near Illminster, died at the scene.

Three male passengers travelling in the Austin Metro were injured, two seriously.

Witness appeal

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash in Churchstanton Hill.

It is thought Mr Little was driving towards Taunton when he lost control of the car and it collided with the lamp post.

The three teenage passengers were taken to Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton for treatment.

One has been transferred to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol suffering serious spinal injuries.
