Fire crews have been tackling a huge barn fire in Shropshire.

More than 40 firefighters were called to a field off the A528 in Myddle, on Thursday evening where half the barn was alight.

It is believed it contained straw and fertilisers. Shropshire Fire Service said several specialist appliances had to be used to tackle the blaze.

One witness said the smoke from the fire was visible from most houses in the village.

The cause is not yet known.
