Farmers' hope for show's revival

The National Farmers' Union has said it hopes the West Mid Show can be revived.

The West Midlands Agricultural Society, organisers of the Shrewsbury-based 125-year-old West Mid Show, went into liquidation last week.

NFU Shropshire chairman Malcolm Roberts said he believed there were plenty of people in the area who would be able to pick up the reins.

The showground's owners have also said they are thinking of hiring someone to manage the land for other events.
