Thieves threaten security driver

A security van driver was threatened by thieves outside a supermarket in Shropshire with a claw hammer.

Police said two men approached the cash in transit van at Morrisons in Whitchurch Road, Shrewsbury, at about 1430 GMT on Sunday.

Officers from West Mercia Police said the driver was left unhurt but shaken. The thieves fled empty-handed.

They escaped the scene in a red Ford Mondeo car. Officers have appealed for information.
