Poppy Appeal tin stolen from shop

Thieves have stolen a Poppy Appeal collection box from a high street shop in Shropshire.

Police said the tin was taken some time between 0900 GMT and 1430 GMT on Tuesday from the Rackhams store in Shrewsbury's High Street.

Officers said it was unclear how much money had been in the charity box at the time but said it had been in the shop for two weeks.

Staff did not hear an alarmed cable go off that was holding it in place.
