A Shropshire social club whose future has been unclear looks set to continue serving the community, a council said.
The Charity Commission has said Dawley Social Club could not retain charitable status so the property would have to be sold, Telford & Wrekin Council added.
But the authority said ward councillors have spoken to it on the issue and it believed talks could soon be concluded.
The club, which dates back to 1928, offers various activities, including snooker, darts and live entertainment.
Dawley Magna councillor Vic Tonks said: "We are delighted that Telford & Wrekin Council are aiding us with this.
"With their support and the support of the local residents, the club should continue to play an integral part within the [life of Dawley] and thrive.
"We expect to be able [to] confirm the successful conclusion of matters soon."
