Town cleaned for sweet pea show

A Shropshire town has been spring cleaned in time for its annual attraction to be held.

Environmental workers from the council along with volunteers have been clearing streets and removing graffiti before Wem's Sweet Pea Show.

The county's tourism service said the festival draws visitors and admirers from around the world.

The show, hosted by the Eckford Sweet Pea Society, is in its 21st year and takes place on 18 and 19 July.
