River body could be missing man

Police have spoken to the family of a missing 21-year-old man after a body was pulled from the River Severn in Shrewsbury on Saturday.

A post-mortem examination has been made of the body, which was recovered near the weir in Castlefields, but it has not yet been formally identified.

West Mercia Police said it was treating the death as unexplained but officers had met Christopher Wall's family.

Mr Wall has not been seen since the early hours of Thursday.

He had attended a funeral the previous day.
