Two accused of nightclub murder

Two men have been accused of murdering a father-of-two who died after an incident at a Shropshire nightclub.

Darren Griffiths, 41, of Harmer Hill, near Shrewsbury, died in hospital from injuries he suffered at the town's Liquid and Diva nightclub.

Neil Stokes, 22, of Spring Gardens, Shrewsbury, and Daryl Brown, 32, of Severn Drive, Wellington, were remanded in custody.

They are due to appear at Shrewsbury Crown Court on 13 July.

Two other men arrested on suspicion of murder have been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Mr Griffiths played for Shrewsbury Rugby Club and had been taking part in the town's Dragon Boat race on Sunday before going on a night out.
