Man charged with toddler's murder

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a 21-month-old boy.

Kieran John Wynn Edwards, of Market Drayton, Shropshire, died in June 2007. The court heard he had been rushed to hospital and died a few days later.

Shaun Thompson, 25, of RAF Scampton, Lincolnshire, appeared before magistrates in Shrewsbury.

Magistrates remanded Mr Thompson, Kieran's stepfather, in custody to appear at Shrewsbury Crown Court on 5 May.
