Charles Darwin was born in Shrewsbury
Stamps featuring a tribute to one of Shropshire's famous sons are being issued by the Royal Mail.
The six jigsaw piece-shaped stamps will celebrate the 150th anniversary of Charles Darwin's book On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection.
The naturalist was born in Shrewsbury on 12 February 1809.
He spent his early years in the town and returned there following the voyage of the Beagle - his trip around the world between 1831-36.
The stamps form part of a set which celebrate unique moments, great anniversaries and cultural themes and which will be issued throughout the year.
