Thick smoke has been seen in parts of the Telford area

More than 30 firefighters have been tackling a blaze at a unit on an industrial estate in Shropshire.

The fire at Hortonwood Industrial Estate, Telford, involved 100 tonnes of baled insulation and thick smoke was seen in parts of the town.

There was traffic congestion on the A518, West Mercia police said.

Seven fire engines, from the centre of Telford, Shrewsbury, Tweedale, Wellington and Prees, went to the scene on Sunday.

Police said they went to the scene to make sure the area was safe.

The fire service was called at about 1255 GMT on Sunday.
