Job losses at manufacturing plant

A Shrewsbury manufacturing company is reducing its workforce because of "difficult global economic conditions".

Caterpillar Remanufacturing Services, which makes machines and engines for the construction and mining industries, is cutting seven jobs.

The news comes on the same day that a Shrewsbury car parts firm announces that it is to introduce a two-day week.

Stadco is reducing production from 17 November, but anticipates normal production will resume in the New Year.
