A 27-year-old mother who has terminal breast cancer has bought presents for her three-year-old daughter for all the milestones she will miss.

Lucy Carr, from Monkmoor, Shrewsbury, has chosen gifts for when Abi is 16, 18 and 21 and for her wedding day.

The mother's cancer went undiagnosed for several months and she has encouraged other women to seek help if they are concerned about their health.

"If you find a small lump, just go and have it checked," she said.

"It'll be too late if it got big like mine."

The presents, which include small personal items, will be handed to other members of the family to give to the girl when she is older.

Ms Carr, who had a street party held on Thursday at her home, has been keeping a diary for her daughter.

She said: "She can look at it and remember me as who I was: 'Mum's brought me these. I appreciate what mummy's done'.

"But I will be thinking about her anyway when I'm up there.

"I'll be looking down on her every night of the week if I have to, to see if she's all right."
