Flood-hit bridge opens to traffic

A road over a Shropshire bridge which has been shut to traffic since the autumn is to reopen.

The Winterburn Bridge, on the Oldfield to Wrickton road near Bridgnorth, has been shut since it was discovered it was damaged during the 2007 floods.

Since then traffic has been diverted on the nearby B4364 via Cleobury North.

The road will reopen at 1800 BST on Friday, but will shut again for five months starting from March for further work to be carried out on the bridge.
